Course Title
BUS 220 Pitching Your Songs
Instructor
Craig Bickhardt
Course Introduction
Listen to the instructor talk about this course:
Course Description
This is a course designed to teach songwriters how to pitch their own songs without relying on a music publisher.
It covers preparation for the pitch, creating a professional looking and sounding pitch package, finding and making contact with the right person through record company A&R staffs, record producers, managers, and other people behind the scenes. Common music business terms will be explained and the student will learn exactly how to handle the various situations that may arise when pitching songs.
Because the traditional methods of pitching songs to record company A&R persons and record producers are not the only way to get your songs into a recording project,
this course will also cover some alternative methods, including pitching and networking via the Internet.
