Course Description
This course teaches the independent songwriter what
it takes to self-publish his or her own music and how to find alternative ways
to exploit and earn income from songs. You will learn how to use the Internet to pitch, promote and market
songs and discover how you can benefit from home recording. You will
also gain insights into licensing your music, sync licensing for film and
TV, and collecting royalties.

Lesson 2: The Internet As A Music Marketing Tool
Lesson 3: Utilizing A Home Recording Studio
Lesson 4: The Film And TV Markets
Lesson 5: The Independent Singer-Songwriter And The New Music Market
Lesson 6: The Value Of A Copyright
Estimated Time
This course consists of six lessons each of which takes approximately fifteen
to thirty minutes to complete. To obtain the greatest benefit, we suggest that you leave enough time after finishing each lesson to do all the exercises and fully absorb the material before beginning the next lesson.
Pre-Requisite Knowledge
An understanding of songwriting method and collaboration, some
knowledge of the music publishing business (not technical), minimal
recording studio experience, some Internet and computer skills.
