Backstory:

This is a songwriter from the UK who was here in the summer of 2019. I arrived at our write late and we only had 20 minutes left before he had to leave. I had a hook that resonated with him, Rise and Shine, and as I was jotting down lyrics he was coming up with melody. I wanted it to be a positive fun song about getting on the other side of hard times. We finished the song just in time.
