About Joe Lickteig
Joe Lickteig lives in Colorado with his wife and two girls and during
the day works as a recruiter. Joe writes contemporary country but considers
his influences the heavy metals bands of the 80's and the
acoustic/folk/singer/songwriters of the 90's. He's been writing up a storm,
having written more in the past 12 months than in the past 4 years combined. And he's been fortunate enough to write with great writers like Mike
Lane, David Smith, Donna Galbraith, Jim Smith, and Tamika Tyler. His hard
work has been paying dividend recently. He's had 2 cuts with his song, "94
Dodge" (cowritten with SU member, Donna Galbraith), along with a few major
label holds (Alan Jackson, Andy Griggs, Brooks and Dunn). He's recently had
two songs recorded/and he hopes will make the final cut on an upcoming CD
for a new act on a major label.
Says Joe about SongU.com:
SongU.com has been the best chance I've had to create my own connections
with music industry professionals from Nashville. The courses, the pitching,
and the coaching are all first rate and have given me "hope" from 1200 miles
away. Through SongU.com I've met publishers and other cowriters who all live
in Nashville. I actually had a song on hold from a major label artist via
SongU.com's Spin N' Pitch (Andy Griggs). Awesome. I've been working hard on
my lyric writing and the courses have given me that boost I was looking for
and a chance to focus on one of many weaknesses. I can't say enough about
SongU.com.
