Backstory:
Unexpected challenges can often show us what we are made of. I thought it was important to show another view of a difficult challenge
Lyrics:
BABY
Verse 1
Curled up in a corner of the Starbucks Café
She trembled as she whispered what she found out that day
She asked him for the money to make it go away
Then she held onto the silence, wondrin’ what he’d say
In a shiver he reached out to her and took her tremblin’ hand
Swallowed up his courage and hoped she’d understand
It wasn’t about money or tryin’ to be a man
But he couldn’t end a life when it began
He said,
Chorus
“Baby, this baby isn’t only yours to bear
I’m right here beside you, I’m not going anywhere
I know it won't be easy, and it’s not easy to say
But Baby, together we can find another way
Verse 2
Angry tears burned her cheek, she brushed them away
Shook her head in disbelief he’d want it this way
She stood to leave, said “I’ve got to breathe,
please don’t follow me,
I thought you’d understand what this has done to me…
But he cried,
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
But when the 9 o’clock left the station
His hope pulled out of sight
She held a one way ticket
and she wouldn’t say goodbye
instrumental interlude
key change:
Verse 3
Curled up in a corner of the Starbuck’s Café
She begs her daddy for the tale of the boy who was brave
So he tells her of the courage and the chance he had to take
To bring that baby in his arms home alone that day
And he said,
Chorus 2
“Baby, you’re my baby and the blessing that I bear
I’m right here beside you, I’m not going anywhere
I know it's not always easy, but it’s easy to say
Together we’ll always find the way,
Yeah, together we’ll always find another way…

She begs him for the story of the boy who was brave

To turn a boy into a man in just a day
