    Backstory:
This song was written in conjunction with a teaching series our church did on marriage. It linked to a poignant drama depicting a couple needing to re-examine the foundation of their marriage.

    Lyrics:

Jack and Jill written by Kara K. Smith Verse Jack and Jill went up the hill As they started their new life He took her hand and they began As husband and wife They built a little house and furnished it with love Thankful for the blessings from above Chorus And they sang: The wind may blow And the storms may come The earth may move And the clouds may hide the sun But we know that there is nothing That can tear us apart If we both hold onto Jesus And trust Him with our hearts Verse Then Jack and Jill moved up the hill As his job would soon demand Little ones came one by one And filled her busy hands The times they had together now Seemed few and far between So now and then he'd sing to her Of the promise they had made Chorus And he sang: The wind will blow And the storms will come The earth may move And the clouds may hide the sun But we know that there is nothing That can tear us apart If we just hold onto Jesus And trust Him with our hearts Verse Now Jack would thrill as the King of the Hill Where the view was mighty fine The kids grew tall and they had it all As he'd learned to wine and dine Jill drove away the holes in her day With her clubs and her cadillac But deep inside she wondered What was left of her and Jack Bridge: Then the market fell down Jack lost his crown And he thought he'd lose his mind He stumbled and fell down the back of the hill Jill tumblin' right behind Broken at the bottom Bleeding from the heart Where was Jesus now that things were falling apart? Chorus For the wind blew strong And the storm had come The stars were falling from the sky And they could not see the Son They looked at one another And almost turned away But then saw amidst the rubble The one thing that remained For though they'd lost their hold And though they'd lost their sight Jesus never lost them in the night... So Jack and Jill turned from the hill And started their new life He took her hand and they began Husband and wife
